About Neighbours, Friends and Families (NFF)

Since 2005, Neighbours, Friends & Families (NFF) has been a trusted campaign working to end intimate partner violence (IPV). It started as a response to recommendations from the Ontario Domestic Violence Death Review Committee and has been supporting communities for nearly two decades. Many people don’t know what to do when they see someone experiencing violence—or don’t realize a neighbour, friend, or family member is being harmed. NFF provides clear, practical tools to recognize the signs, understand the risks, and take safe action. The goal: to empower everyday people to help prevent IPV.

Why the Youth Advisory Council Matters

Young people’s voices are powerful—and needed. The NFF Youth Advisory Council makes sure youth are part of shaping programs that speak directly to issues we face, building healthy relationships, preventing violence, recognizing warning signs, and finding support for ourselves or our friends. This council is about creating safer spaces, supporting survivors, and working together to build communities where respect and care come first.
