Neighbours, Friends and Families to please to announce that we now have our brochures translated into multiple languages and are ready for download! Western Interministerial Council to be 1st Neighbours, Friends and Families Workplace Champion! In January 2008, a NFF presentation was made to a council of Ontario Public Service (OPS) Regional Directors from various ministries. At the presentation, the Western Interministerial Council (WIC) was challenged to become one of the first NFF Workplace Champions in the province by achieving 1- 3 levels of engagement. - Level 1 - Inform all employees about the NFF campaign through email
The WIC members accepted the challenge and have set an ambitious goal to educate all OPS staff in the West Region on the warning signs of woman abuse and to increase understanding about the issue across all Ministries. The goal is to reach approximately 7,000 public servants and achieve all three levels of engagement in the West Region by April 2009. Neighbours, Friends and Families is constantly growing and expanding in communities across Ontario. And we are getting the word out across the province, through airing the Public Service Announcements. They can currently be seen on these television networks: CKPR Thunder Bay, CTV South-western Ontario, CBC Windsor, CBC London, CBC Toronto, CBC Ottawa, CH TV Hamilton, Global TV Toronto, CHEX TV Peterborough, CKWS TV Kingston, and Channel 12 Durham. We also have campaign brochures and safety cards in 12 other languages. Check out the list of languages below.
